Amazing space savings. Thanks to HP Velotechnik’s patented, self-locking folding hinge, it is easier than ever to fold up your Scorpion fx. In just 60 seconds, the comfortable seat can be removed without using any tools, and the trike’s rear wheel can be folded forward.

Space-saving masterpiece. With a few movements, this luxurious touring trike can be turned into a compact package that can be easily transported by car.

A ratchet strap hidden behind the seat ties together the two halves of the frame to make the trike easy to carry when folded. Another 90 seconds and the front wheels have been removed using one single Allen wrench. The agile speedster will now even fit in the trunk of some of the tiniest cars. Or in your apartment: Don’t let anyone ever tell you again that you don’t have room for any more beautiful trikes!

BodyLink-Seat

The HP Velotechnik seat systems provide an exemplary ergonomic connection at the key interface between the rider and the trike. With the adjustable BodyLink hard shell seat, the lower seat shell offers excellent side support, while the upper seat back gives enough freedom for you to lean dynamically into the curve when cornering. Waterproof seat pad cushion made of EVA foam or breathable Airflow seat cushion (multi-layer system).

ErgoMesh-Seat

The airy ErgoMesh seat is available in several widths and heights. It has anatomically-shaped side cushioning for extra support when cornering and a practical zipper pocket in the backrest. Safety plus: Reflective strips on the seat sides. Both seat systems fit the same frame mounts and are thus interchangeable. They can also be removed entirely in 15 seconds a practical feature when it is raining, or you want to put your recumbent trike into your car. The ErgoMesh seat gives you a 3 cm higher sitting position than the BodyLink seat. A higher seating position facilitates boarding and disembarking and improves the overview in traffic, but reduces the tilt stability when cornering at higher speed.

Lowrider Rack

A lowrider rack can also be mounted additionally on the luggage rack of the Scorpion fx. It can be loaded up to 25 kg (55 lbs). Tube diameter is 12 mm (0.5″).

Rear Rack

Fancy luggage transport even on rough roads? No problem for your Scorpion. We can install the sturdy rear rack that we developed especially for the Scorpion fx series – and your luggage will be safe and fully suspended on your travels. This enables agile driving dynamics and helps to protect your equipment. The stable rack (14 mm tube) for 2 panniers weighing up to 25 kg (55 lbs) in total has been optimized to withstand the high lateral forces to which trikes are subjected. It comes with a secondary, lowered level to hang your panniers with a low center of gravity. Low sidebars provide secure support for bags. With the Top load attachment you can extend the rack with a platform for light luggage.

Parking Brake

We can install a V-brake on the rear wheel. It is operated by a thumb lever at the handlebar.

Fenders / Mudguards

Functional fenders: The HP Velotechnik trike fenders offer excellent rider protection against spray from the rear and in particular, from the side. HP Velotechnik enlarged the inside facing part to improve the spray protection to the driver, especially when cornering. Elegant mounting hardware located on the inside of the fender with height adjustment. The rounded shape of the fenders with 60 mm / 2.36″ width allows the installation of large-volume, comfortable tires up to 50 mm / 2″ width.

Front Boom Quick Adjust

The optional quick frame adjustment with quick-release levers can be used to adapt the bike to different leg lengths quickly. By pushing in the boom tube, you can also make your Scorpion fx even more compact for transport.

Electric Power-Assist

Scorpion Goes E-Trike. Like all models from HP Velotechnik, the Scorpion fx can also be equipped with a powerful and efficient STEPS electric assist system from Shimano. Through the electric motor support of up to 20 mph those steep climbs become less daunting. The built-in aerodynamic advantage of your recumbent trike can also be exploited electrically: less drag means more range. People with special needs, veterans or injured people can now experience exciting outdoor activities from the comfortable seat of HP Velotechnik’s stable trike and get some extra support from the powerful motor whenever they want to! For extra long trips, the second battery option from HP Velotechnik instantly doubles the maximum range.
