Because of the lateral forces that trikes subject their wheels to, ICE trike frames are designed and built for non-dished rear wheels. This means that the rim is centered over the wheel hub with symmetrical spoke tension on both sides of the wheel. BionX and Falco wheels come from the factory laced for the more common, “dished” wheels, typical on many leaning bicycles, with the wheel offset 5mm, in order to center the rim between the bike’s rear wheel dropouts. It’s possible to install a BionX or Falco kit on a ICE trike without this step. However, the wheel will not be centered in the dropouts (if you look carefully or measure). Also, skipping this step can cause the right side of a larger tire to rub on the frame limiting your tire choices.
